Cynthia Lee Fontaine, formerly known as Cynthia Lalique LaFontaine[1], is a Puerto Rican drag performer from Austin, Texas. She is one of 12 contestants to compete on the eighth season of RuPaul's Drag Race, where she finished in tenth place and was awarded the title of Miss Congeniality.

Cynthia returned to the competition on the second episode of Season 9 as the "fourteenth queen" of the season and finished in tenth place.

Health[]

Cynthia was diagnosed with stage one liver cancer shortly after filming Season 8, and eventually was in remission. Acid Betty visited her several times whilst she was undergoing treatment.

Cynthia contracted a serious urinary infection in June 2018, days after Dragcon 2018. She was treated days later luckily.

  • Cynthia is Miss Mardi Gras PR 2007 and Miss Acquamares 2008. In 2008, Cynthia moved to Texas and took the Lone Star pageant system by storm, winning Miss Austin Sweetheart 2012 and Miss Texas Continental 2012, representing her community at Nationals in Chicago the same year.[2]
  • She helped raise $80,000 for the victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico with Phi Phi O’Hara in 2017.[2]

  • Cynthia is the third Drag Race contestant to lip sync three times without sending anyone home, after Carmen Carrera and Yara Sofia, and was followed by Trixie Mattel.
  • Cynthia is the only Drag Race contestant who was once uneligible to win a Miss Congeniality title, in Season 9. This is without considering contestants who competed on seasons that did not present the Miss Congeniality custom.
  • Cynthia, Ivy Winters, Nina West, and Kornbread "The Snack" Jeté are the only Miss Congeniality winners to have not yet returned for an All Stars season.
