Snatch Game

The Snatch Game is a Maxi Challenge where the contestants showcase their best celebrity impersonations in a game show setting. Originally devised as a satire of the classic TV show, Match Game, the challenge has evolved to parody other popular game shows, though maintaining the same objective: having the funniest and most accurate impersonation.

Rules of Snatch Game[]

The host shouts a random question from a deck of cards to one of the guest stars. The contestants must listen to the question and fill in the blank with their own answer.
The contestants' answers must match the one from the guest star in order to gain points.
If a contestant gets a correct, matching answer, the guest star gets a point.
At the end of the game, the points do not actually have an effect on judging, since the contestants are judged by their impersonation and comedy.

The segment initially featured nine panelists (per the original Match Game format), while later seasons varied the number.
- In the second episode of the RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars (Season 1), a challenge called Gaff-In took place, in which the contestants delivered celebrity impersonations by teams and had to write original comedy material for a Laugh-In style sketch show, which was done in place of the Snatch Game.
- From the fourth season of All Stars onwards, and on the second season of Thailand, the Snatch Game segment was based on The Dating Game show.
- On the first season of UK vs The World, the Snatch Game segment was based on Family Feud.
The contestants who have won the Snatch Game multiple times are BenDeLaCreme, Ginger Minj, Baga Chipz, Trinity The Tuck, Jinkx Monsoon, Jimbo and Hannah Conda.
- Inversely, Gia Gunn and Onyx are currently the only contestants to have been eliminated in the Snatch Game twice.
The All Stars season 7 episode of Snatch Game is the highest rated RuPaul's Drag Race episode on IMDb with a score of 9.8/10.^[1]
Celebrities who have been impersonated on the Snatch Game have often commented on their impersonation, usually praising the contestant who impersonated them. Judge Judy, Lady Bunny, Tamar Braxton, Carol Channing, Nancy Grace and Lisa Rinna have all had pre-taped messages aired on the show talking about how they enjoyed their impersonations.
- Patricia Quinn and Jenny Bui, however, were unimpressed with their impersonations done by Aiden Zhane and Gia Gunn, respectively, and actually found them offensive.^[2]^[3]
Though Kennedy Davenport is widely acknowledged to be the first contestant to impersonate a male on the Snatch Game, technically this accolade belongs to Jessica Wild, who impersonated RuPaul in US Season 2. Kennedy was, however, the first to impersonate a male celebrity who is not a drag performer.
Bob The Drag Queen was the first contestant to impersonate two characters in one Snatch Game, playing Uzo Aduba and Carol Channing in US Season 8.
Out of all the contestants who have competed in the Snatch Game more than once, Tatianna, Keta Minaj and Tia Kofi hold the record for the biggest difference in placement. The first two went from winning their first Snatch Game to being eliminated during their second one. Meanwhile, Tia was eliminated during her first attempt but won the challenge on her second try.
Born circa 18 BC, the Virgin Mary is the oldest celebrity ever impersonated in the Snatch Game, with the youngest one being Blue Ivy Carter at 6 years old.
- Though not human, Sophia "Maria" the Robot (played by Gigi Goode) is technically the youngest celebrity impersonated, having been activated on February 14, 2016. Thus, making her 4 years old when her impression aired.
The smallest group of contestants participating in the Snatch Game is 5, which happened in Drag Race Thailand (Season 2).
The celebrities who multiple contestants have won the Snatch Game as are Liza Minnelli (by Alexis Michelle & Hannah Conda), Joan Rivers (by Jimbo & Loosey LaDuca), Queen Elizabeth II (by Anita Wigl'it & La Diamond), and Shirley Temple (by Jimbo & Hannah Conda).
Whitney Houston is the only celebrity to be impersonated both before and after her death.
Cardi B and Jennifer Coolidge are tied for being the most impersonated celebrity in Snatch Game history, with five queens having impersonated each of them across all versions of the show. Coincidentally, no contestant has ever won the snatch game playing either of them.
Nearah Nuff and Kitten Kaboodle are the first two contestants to play the same celebrity in the same season, both playing Jennifer Coolidge in Canada's Drag Race (Season 4).
