Recently, I made a comment on the Dusted or Busted page, saying:
"This way of proving this "who should win" is a little flawed.
As a fellow Alaska fan, I know people are going to use this against the "Katya was robbed" theory. And it's what I call, bullshit.
First of all, if a queen lasted in the competition longer, and was in the bottom, she loses more points. Which, places her at a negative, and makes her lesser than the first to be eliminated. In reality, this is foolish to compare someone who scored higher than the first eliminated.
Second of all, these go by challenges. Those can't really truly determine a queen's skill - and therefore makes it invalid. This is just on RuPaul's Drag Race, which isn't really all their skill.
Third, you can't compare queens to each other from various seasons, because of the episode count. This means that if BeBe Zahara Bonet was compared to Alaska, she'd easily be looked down upon for having 3 points, whilst Alaska has 7.
Because this system is broken, I find this page a little bit unnessecary."
How do you feel about this? Because it doesn't need to be on the wiki.
I read that you're known for coding, so I took the chance and here I am, because I need some help!
When I first saw your profile I was totally fascinated, because your style is so unique and I really love it, and I'm here to ask you a few things because coding is really new for me.
I really want to know how you named the buttons that usually display 'Admin' or 'Bureucrat' into 'Glamazon', 'Hunty' and 'Bianca Del Rio', I love that idea and since I'm an active admin on the German AHS Wiki I think it would be cool to name these buttons into characters I like.
And how did you display your global editings?
The last thing I want to know is, how can I put a picture (or gif) with some text on my message wall? I've been trying to figure that out for ages, and you're my last hope...
I also really don't want to look like a total copycat, as I already said, I love your ideas and these are some nice details that would definitely make my profile look more interesting.
sorry, but I don't really appreciate you just showing up and trying to make demands/alter the way our administration handles the wiki as if you have some type of authority here, so no, I will not highlight the thread. pages do not NEED to be protected, as I personally try to keep protection to a minimum and use it only when absolutely necessary, seeing as this is a community site and I want users to be able to contribute. I've also stated many times that I don't want to create individual episode pages, as all of the key information from each episode is contained within the season pages, and if episode pages are created, they will most likely remain as stubs, since there are so many episodes in this series, and it's completely unnecessary to have hundreds of stub pages lingering on the wiki. and yes, we do use fan created gifs on wiki pages, as a lot of other wikis do. just because YOU think only screenshots and promotional material should be used in galleries, doesn't mean they should be removed, because the admins here have approved of them being there. and we literally use the portable infobox markup, which uses a modern style, so not sure where you get the idea that our templates are outdated lmao. but anyways, you can run the JD wiki the way that you want, and the admins here will run it the way that WE want. thanks for your input tho xo.
I see you are making educated points. However, why do you keep saying "we" as in, you're not the only one making decisions around here. Because from what I can tell, you're the only active member of the staff, so it seems like you're trying to make all the decisions. Plus, I wanted to clear up the fact that the spoilers from earlier this year shouldn't be on pages. We wouldn't want false information, would we? I get that it's a community where everyone has a say, but it doesn't feel like everyone has a say.
Plus, I barely run the jd wiki whatsoever. Am I Master Hydraffe, the main frontrunner of the wiki? No I'm not. This is a decision I made on my own, and if you look at my contributions for a second, you'll see that most of my time isn't spent on the wiki, and I don't really give a sh!t about what goes on. The main reason I wanted to make a thread was because I potentially had the entire season spoiled for me, and that's not something users like me want from a wiki.
I'm the only staff actively making edits here, yes, but I am in contact with the other staff members and a large number of active users on our discord, which is the primary way that we handle the community. and our main staff works together to make decisions on what we think is and isn't best for the wiki, and just because we disagree with your demands, doesn't mean that no one has a say lmao.
and yes, I understand that there was spoilery content here previously, and unfortunately, this is a community where spoilers from reddit are extremely common and basically unavoidable unless every single page is protected at this point. but regardless I've actively worked to remove spoilers and prevent them from being posted, and I've implemented new rules to stop it. so not sure why you're bringing up the past when the issue has been greatly improved.
