sorry, but I don't really appreciate you just showing up and trying to make demands/alter the way our administration handles the wiki as if you have some type of authority here, so no, I will not highlight the thread. pages do not NEED to be protected, as I personally try to keep protection to a minimum and use it only when absolutely necessary, seeing as this is a community site and I want users to be able to contribute. I've also stated many times that I don't want to create individual episode pages, as all of the key information from each episode is contained within the season pages, and if episode pages are created, they will most likely remain as stubs, since there are so many episodes in this series, and it's completely unnecessary to have hundreds of stub pages lingering on the wiki. and yes, we do use fan created gifs on wiki pages, as a lot of other wikis do. just because YOU think only screenshots and promotional material should be used in galleries, doesn't mean they should be removed, because the admins here have approved of them being there. and we literally use the portable infobox markup, which uses a modern style, so not sure where you get the idea that our templates are outdated lmao. but anyways, you can run the JD wiki the way that you want, and the admins here will run it the way that WE want. thanks for your input tho xo.
I see you are making educated points. However, why do you keep saying "we" as in, you're not the only one making decisions around here. Because from what I can tell, you're the only active member of the staff, so it seems like you're trying to make all the decisions. Plus, I wanted to clear up the fact that the spoilers from earlier this year shouldn't be on pages. We wouldn't want false information, would we? I get that it's a community where everyone has a say, but it doesn't feel like everyone has a say.
Plus, I barely run the jd wiki whatsoever. Am I Master Hydraffe, the main frontrunner of the wiki? No I'm not. This is a decision I made on my own, and if you look at my contributions for a second, you'll see that most of my time isn't spent on the wiki, and I don't really give a sh!t about what goes on. The main reason I wanted to make a thread was because I potentially had the entire season spoiled for me, and that's not something users like me want from a wiki.
I'm the only staff actively making edits here, yes, but I am in contact with the other staff members and a large number of active users on our discord, which is the primary way that we handle the community. and our main staff works together to make decisions on what we think is and isn't best for the wiki, and just because we disagree with your demands, doesn't mean that no one has a say lmao.
and yes, I understand that there was spoilery content here previously, and unfortunately, this is a community where spoilers from reddit are extremely common and basically unavoidable unless every single page is protected at this point. but regardless I've actively worked to remove spoilers and prevent them from being posted, and I've implemented new rules to stop it. so not sure why you're bringing up the past when the issue has been greatly improved.
um you go here, hit the edit button, highlight the code, right click and hit copy
go to your profile page, hit the edit button, go to source mode, paste the code, and adjust it however you want
"image" is the file name for whatever pic you want, "articlename" is the name of the article you want the template to link to, "name" is the name you want to display on the box, "color" is the hex code of whatever color you want the box to be, and "linkcolor" is the color of the text for the box
Also, I was not able to post this message until I supressed the custom CSS for the whole site. I'm not sure if it's related, but I tried multiple times. When adding customizations to any contribution tools, please test them out to make sure no functionality is affected.
That would be great, thank you! I was actually planning on requesting the change anyway.
& I'm not quite sure why you were having issues posting the message. I always test my CSS beforehand and have never had any problems with sending messages here. I just had other users test it out as well to double check, and everything seems to be working properly.
Ok, I have changed the domain. That should be effective immediately for everyone.
The issue posting might have just been on my end, some odd issue. If others are not having issues, then I am sure it's fine. It's good to know that you test things out! The wiki looks great and things seem very busy here, it's wonderful to see.
